I previously owned Gemini MDJ500's and though they are glitchy from time to time, I found them to be a decent set of Media Player for the 6+ years I used them. I recently decided to purchase Gemini MDJ 900's and I'm very satisfied with the players. They have several functions the 500's don't have. You can't go wrong with the price of these 900's compared to the insane prices for other media players. I'm no club DJ, I use them to play and record music at home, but I feel these 900's can do just as well as the high end players in a gig setting. I purchased the 900's because of my experience with the 500's.
✓ AmazonBeen using it for about a month everyday practice and gigs on Saturdays. Been a great investment
✓ AmazonI ordered this for an event that was happening very close to what Amazon told me the delivery date was, and almost a full week later I finally got the item. Not a huge deal, I was still excited to get it even if it was pretty late due to being sent via ontrac. (The company that sold this to me should look into ontracs reputation online, i was very anxious about the shipping situation after doing this..) Thankfully it did finally show up, in visually good condition, but i'm very disappointed to report that I have received a defective item. I bought this wanting to use it as a standalone, not a controller, so i was disappointed that I could not get the front panel USB port to read any memory stick I threw at it. I went so far as to troubleshoot every possible format they said should be compatible in the manual, for both the usb stick architecture and the test audio file specs, and nothing I tried would give any feedback on the screen other than "insert USB". Verified the device is on the latest firmware. After 5 hours of trying everything I could to get it working, the issue is narrowed down to a physical problem with the ports data connection.
