The Starlight competes directly with the DJ2GO2 Touch on price (€68 vs. €67), but goes with aluminum instead of plastic, with configurable RGB backlighting and strobe effects on the base module. It has a built-in sound card with headphone pre-listen, something not every compact controller in this range includes.
With 1,621 reviews and a 4.4/5 average, it's notably better backed than most compact models in the catalog. Users recommend it both as a first rig and as a backup for those who already have something fuller, and value that it's compatible with Serato DJ Lite and, via MIDI, VirtualDJ too.
Best for: Anyone after a compact, well-built first rig, or a sturdier travel/backup controller than the plastic options.
1,621 reviews at 4.4/5, a notable volume for a compact controller. Comments recommend it both to start out and as a backup rig, with no notably recurring complaints.
I really want to give credit for how quality built this thing is. For what it is, it's amazing. Great sound, solid build quality. But this is NOT a starter DJ controller, this is a mobile dj have fun controller and for that purpose it's great. But if you are starting out, it's missing a lot of function you will want as a DJ. If you are looking for a starter controller look at the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX2 ( https://amzn.to/3JOiGCm ) or for $150 more the DDJ-FLX4 ( https://amzn.to/41wwckk ) these are perfect starting controllers, and have all the function you will need to do gigs, or where you need decent functions but not all the cost.
✓ AmazonIf you are looking to get into casual DJing, this gets you there for a great price. The size is good when you have limited space to work with, but frustrating when you can accidentally hit a few features if you are not careful enough. Overall I am really happy with it and am excited to see how good I can get on this piece of hardware.
