The quick verdict

  • Same workflow as club CDJs (Rekordbox, Pro DJ Link)
  • Only 2 kg, very portable for a DJ media player
  • Color touchscreen with on-screen QWERTY keyboard
  • Smaller screen than XDJ-1000MK2, hard to read in low light
  • No headphone output (relies on mixer)
  • No digital coaxial output like higher-end models

Best for: DJs who practice for club gigs on Pioneer gear and want the same Rekordbox/Pro DJ Link workflow at a reduced price point. Also works as a secondary player paired with an XDJ-1000MK2.

InheritanceFeatures inherited from Pioneer's flagship players

The XDJ-700 fills a very specific gap in Pioneer DJ's lineup: the most affordable USB player that maintains full Pro DJ Link compatibility and Rekordbox workflow. For DJs who practice at home before performing on CDJ-2000NXS2s or XDJ-1000MK2s, the XDJ-700 delivers exactly the same experience at a fraction of the cost.

The LCD touchscreen is smaller than the 1000MK2's, an obvious trade-off for the price, but displays all essential information clearly enough for home use. The 7-inch jog wheel is solid quality and responds well for both pitch bending and casual scratching. At just 2 kg, it's unusually portable for a player in this category.

What could be better

  • No digital coaxial output like higher-end models
  • Not a substitute for XDJ-1000MK2 in a professional club setup

Best for: DJs who practice for club gigs on Pioneer gear and want the same Rekordbox/Pro DJ Link workflow at a reduced price point. Also works as a secondary player paired with an XDJ-1000MK2.

What buyers say

Users highlight the perfect Rekordbox compatibility and identical club CDJ workflow. The most common criticism is the smaller screen compared to the XDJ-1000MK2. As a home practice player or secondary deck, reviews are consistently positive.
