The TWELVE MKII isn't a turntable for playing regular vinyl: it's a 12-inch control disc with a motorized platter, built specifically for DVS (Digital Vinyl System) with Serato DJ Pro, Traktor or Virtual DJ. The 5.0 kg·cm torque motor delivers genuine direct-drive, with 3,600 resolution points on the platter for very fine scratch precision, and adjustable torque if you prefer a more traditional feel.

With 109 reviews and a 4.7/5 average, it's the highest score among the 4 RANE products in this catalog, solid even compared to the rest of the lineup. It connects over USB MIDI, straight to the computer or to a SEVENTY-TWO MKII mixer, and doesn't include a cartridge since it's not built to play regular vinyl, but to work with the included timecode vinyl.

I got 1 of these along with a normal turntable and it's been the best of both worlds. I still use DVS on the regular turntable when mixing digital records. This has alot of features like allowing you to go thru the song with the slider up top and enough buttons so you don't have to use the laptop or mixer for most things. The big disk is a little slippery and I wish they added some better grip dots or something but if it's an issue 12inSkinz makes custom platters that include 3 diff types if grips and custom designs. Overall I'd highly recommend this for normal DJing and scratching
