The Denon SC LIVE 4's direct rival in standalone mode, but with far more reviews behind it.

7.0out of 10

The quick verdict

  • 375 reviews at 4.4/5, a much stronger track record than other standalone options
  • Smooth 7" touchscreen according to users, with good streaming integration
  • 1:1 compatible with Serato DJ and Virtual DJ if you want to go laptop-based later
  • At €659, it's a serious investment within the standalone tier
  • At 3.7 kg it's not the lightest if you want something to carry everywhere
  • Some users wish for more direct loop controls compared to DDJ-style controllers

Best for: DJs who want real independence from a laptop but prefer a broader review track record than other standalone options before spending several hundred euros.

The Mixstream Pro+ plays in exactly the same league as the Denon SC LIVE 4: both promise mixing without a laptop, direct WiFi streaming, and a touchscreen as the command center. The difference is the track record: while the Denon barely has 4 reviews, the Numark sits at 375 with a 4.4/5 average, which gives a lot more confidence when deciding.

Beyond the fully standalone mode with Engine DJ OS, it keeps 1:1 compatibility with Serato DJ and Virtual DJ in case you ever want to plug in a laptop without switching gear. Reviewers praise the touchscreen and Apple Music integration, though one wishes for more direct loop controls compared to rivals like the Pioneer DDJ-400.

What buyers say

375 reviews averaging 4.4/5: considerably more track record than other standalone options in this catalog. Users especially value the touchscreen and WiFi streaming; one review flags regional limitations (some streaming services aren't available everywhere) and the lack of more direct loop buttons.

Love it ! Works great by itself and compatible with major deejay software . It’s my go to mixer for my mobile gigs.

I have had a blast using this unit on a music internet feed and even from my phone on Bluetooth. Also have don2 gigs playing holiday music from a thumb drive. All I can say is it is great and it works with my Serato after downloading new drivers!.Oh I forgot to say it is the best for the cost.

I like this thing but it is not being supported well somewhere between Numark, Serato and PC.. Tried updating everything, didn’t fix how it only works after a full restart of the mixer and the laptop.
