The Platinum FX takes the Mixtrack Pro FX's base and adds a layer on top: control of 4 decks via layers (2 physical, 2 virtual per deck), and jog wheels with a built-in color display showing BPM, track position and time remaining without glancing at the laptop screen. The 8 pads per deck and 3-band EQ stay the same as the Pro FX.
With 2,650 reviews and a 4.6/5 average, this product has the best combination of volume and score in this whole comparison. There's barely a notable complaint among the available reviews: a sensible step up from the Pro FX for anyone who wants to play with 4 decks without jumping to standalone pricing.

I loved this controller. It works perfectly, is very easy to use and handle, and the quality is excellent. I highly recommend it. It’s worth every penny! You won’t regret it; the quality is very good.
✓ AmazonFirst thing's first: I'm old, and I didn't know people were beatmatching by pressing a "Sync" button until I got this thing. Who knew? While beatmatching doesn't matter a ton with the music I play live, I can see the "sync" being helpful for beginner DJs. I don't care about having tons of bells and whistles. I play mostly new wave and goth, and my audiences want to hear the songs the way they were recorded. Having a little sampler built in is cute, but I'll never use it. I really just wanted something that was easy to transport, didn't have a huge learning curve, and was laid out like regular non-computer mixers I'd used in the past. Honestly, this controller does so much more than I need it to do... I only chose this model because I wanted the LED displays (remember: I'm old) and wanted a built-in sound card and mic input. Maybe I could have found something cheaper that does what I need, but I didn't find anything that seemed as well-built. I'm happy with my purchase for sure. I'd never used Serato until I got this controller. I played around with it (Serato Lite) for a few weeks and just couldn't get into the workflow. Using this controller with Serato actually made me dislike the controller at first! Fortunately, this controller works great with Virtual DJ, as tragic as that software's name is, and now I really enjoy it. The only drawback I'm seeing is that only having RCA outputs isn't going to work for some people. I mostly play music at regular bars and parties, not big clubs, so I'm fine going without.
